New York-based photographer Richard Silver travels the world on the one hand and reflects the places he sees from his perspective. Born in the U.S., visited more than 94 cities so far. During these trips, he had the chance to experience different cultures and to record various architectural structures.

Historical Theatre through the Eyes of the Actors
Photographer Richard Silver shares the interior architecture of opera buildings from different parts of the world.
Among the historical and modern buildings he photographs are theaters . In order to show the richness of these venues, he does the shootings not towards the stage but towards the audience. In this way, the opportunity of seeing the architectural structures from the point of view of performer.

Every detail of the spaces with a wide time interval, from 19th century buildings to modern architectural buildings, gives clues about the period. In the photos taken from the stage; velvet seats, frescoes, ceiling trims and other minor details.
In the interview, the photographer says that only the performers focus on this series. Since the area that the scene sees covers a large part, it is shooting using wide-angle lenses. In his interview, he also emphasizes that he enjoys photographing symmetrical interiors. Theaters in different cities offer a unique opportunity for these shots.
Photographs taken by Richard Silver are on display at museums and galleries around the world, including the NY Skyscraper Museum, LaGrange Art Museum, Krause Gallery and the Zürich Design Museum.
