Talented artists and sculptors sometimes create magnificent monuments and statues that are not capable of evoking any other feelings and emotions, except positive ones. And many of them teach us a lot.
We will show you some of these kind and wonderful monuments and sculptural compositions. Monuments of love, friendship and devotion from different parts of the world
1. Where else can a monument to the sailor’s wife be erected if not in the port city? This monument was erected in Odessa in 2002.
2. Crossing rabbits through the Iota Canal, Sweden. The sculptural composition covers two banks: from one, the rabbits jump into the water, and from the other, they climb to the shore, helping each other.
3. Each resident of Murmansk will tell you where the monument to the cat Semen is located. The bronze monument is erected in memory of a cat who traveled from Moscow to Murmansk for more than 6 years, having covered more than 2,000 kilometers in order to return to its owners.
4. This monument, erected in the Museon art park in Moscow, is dedicated to Grandfather Mazay, who has been familiar to each of us from school.
5. In the Old Town of Stockholm there is a monument “Boy Looking at the Moon” with a height of almost 15 cm, which has become the smallest in Sweden. The sculpture, created by Liss Ricksson, was installed in 1967.
6. The family monument was erected in 2008 in Saransk at the initiative of the head of Mordovia, becoming a symbol of the unshakable family values that are the foundation of society.
7. This Petersburg Angel appeared on one of the benches in the Izmailovsky Garden in 2013.
8. Another monument to the family, but already in 2013 was installed in Astrakhan. It is located on the observation deck in front of Swan Lake.
9. A kissing couple of sailor and nurse has become an American symbol of the end of World War II. An 8 meter high sculpture is set in Florida.
10. This remarkably good bronze monument of friendly eating of sausages can be seen near one of the meat stores of Novokuznetsk. The author of the work is the Krasnoyarsk sculptor Konstantin Zinich.
11. These ducklings crossing the road after their duck mom can be seen in the Boston Public Garden. The sculptural composition in bronze was made by sculptor Nancy Sheng, who depicted the heroes of the popular children's book “Give Way to Ducklings” Robert McCloskey. An exact copy of it can be seen in the square near the Novodevichy Convent in Moscow.
12. In Kazan, you can see the Monument to the philanthropist Asgat Galimzyanov. In Soviet times, he transferred money to orphanages and a boarding school and donated new cars. This person gave 75 buses to some buses.
Practically without spending money on himself, he worked as a carriage driver on the Kazan collective farm market, raised livestock, and helped those who needed it with the proceeds. He had his own comfortable apartment in the city center, which he gave to his family returning from Kazakhstan.
13. Monument to St. Bernard Barry, the famous dog of the breed, which later became known as St. Bernard. At the beginning of the XIX century, he worked as a lifeguard at the monastery of St. Bernard (Switzerland), which was in close proximity to a dangerous mountain pass. According to legend, the dog saved 40 people and was killed by the 41st man he saved, who took him for a wolf.
14. This bronze sculpture of a 7-month-old baby, creating the illusion of lightness, is located in one of the English parks. The author of the work is the English artist Mark Quinn.
