10 Astonishing places where rivers, seas and oceans merging

In geography, the term "confluence" means the connection of two different rivers together. There are several types of river confluence. It happens that a small river merges with a large one and the latter absorbs it. And sometimes with each other there are two rivers of the same greatness, the merger of which already becomes like a real confrontation. Lets see the 10 Astonishing places where rivers, seas and oceans merging

The fronts are areas of large horizontal variations (gradients) of temperature and salinity. They constitute density boundaries that separate bodies of water with contrasting thermohaline characteristics. They produce vertical flows that provide the necessary nutrients for great biological activity. They stimulate the growth of large phytoplankton, mainly composed of fast-growing species.
The large phytoplankton generates short and efficient trophic networks, where much of the primary productivity is channeled to larger organisms.

5. The confluence of the Rio Negro and Solimines rivers near the city of Manaus (Brazil)

The convergence of the Rio Negro and Solimines rivers in Brazil. Six miles from Manaus in Brazil, the Rio Negro and Solimines are connected but not mixed for 4 kilometers. Rio Negro is dark water and Solimines is bright water. This phenomenon is explained by differences in temperature and flow rate. Rio Negro flows at 2 kilometers per hour and 28 degrees Celsius, while Solimines flows at 4 to 6 kilometers and 22 degrees Celsius.
