Antonio " El Tonto ", also known as "The Pirate of Trucks", was one of the most successful criminals in the history of Spanish province of Granada, having performed over 60 robberies in his fruitful career. He was known for hijacking trucks and running away with millions in merchandise, including perfumes and computers, he was also a pioneer in the legal trade in cannabis in the Spanish province.
The total value of his plundered property was more than 6 million US
dollars. He was arrested after looting seven luxury cars; in addition,
he was a pioneer in promoting "legalization of marijuana" in the area
and opened a supermarket in his hometown of Granada, touting the items
he robbed. Antonio died in 2018 at the age of 46. But Antonio's death
did not make him disappear from the world. Recently, his mausoleum has
become a famous tourist spot in the local area!
According to a report on "Global Strange Thing" on the 25th, Antonio's grave is located in the province of Granada, Spain. Made of imported marble, a life-size bronze statue is placed above the tombstone. In front of the statue is a brand new Audi Q5. But what is really shocking is the accessories and costumes of the statue!
The layout of the cemetery reproduces the scene of Antonio's hijacking of the truck: a "prestigious" truck thief sits at the road, wearing a custom version of Montclair's leather jacket, and a 1968 Rolex gold watch on his left wrist. (Valued at around RMB 960,000), wearing a Versace bracelet and several gold rings on his right wrist; on the steps next to the statue is a bronze replica of a Gucci handbag, as well as two smartphones and a box of Marlboro cigarettes!
Recently, the graves of El Tonto again caught the attention of the Spanish media , as a missing accessory was installed. It is reported that the Audi Q5 in front of the grave was not the first choice for funeral cars. Antonio's father's original idea was to choose a Ferrari sports car for him. But his wife retorted, claiming that the Audi Q5 was Antonio's favorite car because he always drove the car. In the end, the family poured the Audi Q5 for Anthony.
Although from the legal point of view, Antonio is an outrageous and extremely desperate gangster, but Antonio is still loved in Pinos, a small town with more than 10,000 residents. It is reported that each time Antonio "returns in triumph", some of the stolen money will be distributed to the local poor residents. After his death, people often spontaneously went to his grave and laid flowers to express nostalgia.
