Mr. Tom Cotter ( Youtube channel here ) introduces Ferrari which is also unusual to restore cars that were sleeping in the barn and rare cars left abandoned to the world .
He seems to find that people who find "such a car" contact him because he is famous as "restore contractor" rather than looking for such a car on his own.
From time to time on the Internet come across news about the discovery of so-called "time capsules" - cars with low mileage, which for decades have stood in the garage. It is not always this rarities, on the contrary. But from time to time there are truly unique finds. Just recently, luck smiled American Tom Cotter.

He is a professional journalist, host of a TV program on the search for abandoned warehouses and barns. During the filming of one of the series, he came across a real treasure. He was given a tip to a garage in North Carolina NASCAR country, which for almost 30 years no one had attended.

The first thing Cotter saw when he went inside was a silver Ferrari 275 GTB. This is a 1966 sports car with a huge 12-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive. In order to examine it, we had to step over the pile of objects on the floor, dodging the hanging web. As Cotter himself described his sensations, the whole garage was chosen by crickets, everything around was covered in dust, and in the cabin and in the trunk of a car rat they made nests for themselves.

Despite the ubiquitous dust, it is clear that the interior with a dark blue trim is well preserved, only 13 thousand miles (about 21,000 kilometers) are on the odometer. When the presenter attached a magnet to the body, he did not stick, but fell to the ground. This meant that the car has a light-alloy body, and its cost is several times higher than it might have seemed at first.

After the Italian super-car from Cotter from the 60s, Cotter moves to the American auto-legend of the same period. The red Shelby Cobra 427 roadster is a car no less rare, especially Ferrari, especially since the Ford V8 engine of 428 cubic inches (7.0 liters) stands under the hood. such received only 100 copies.
The car's interior is trimmed with red and black, on the odometer the figure of 19001 miles (about 30 thousand kilometers) is frozen. The car is made on sports technology, with extensive use of plastic. The wheels of the Sunburst are “shod” in thick Goodyear Wing-foot tires.

In the back of the garage there are two other roadsters: the British Triumph TR-6 of 1976 with a mileage of 14 thousand kilometers, which the owner of these cars and the garage bought with a new, and old-fashioned, but equally valuable, Morgan Plus 8 of 1978 with a mileage of only 5 000 km
The fifth car is frankly lost on the background of rare finds. This is a modest BMW 325ix mid 1980s.
All cars were delivered to the garage no later than 1991 - this year the “time capsule” was created. The cars were laid up after the mechanic who served them died - a friend of the owner who died in a motorcycle accident. Instead of looking for a new mechanic, the owner of the rare books simply stopped driving them.

Ferrari 275 GTB is a model released in 1965, succeeding 250 GT ( commentary by Ferrari is here ). Front
engine layout, Ferrari as a model adopted "first" transaxle. It is said
that the production is about 450 units in series I and series II, and
it is usually said that there is a "body" of aluminum, although it has a
body made of steel. The engine is recorded as V12 (3.3 liters), the
output is recorded as 280 horsepower, the design of the body is
Pininfarina, and the production is Scaglietti.

The two main "pearls" from an abandoned garage were sold at auction. Estimate (preliminary cost) Ferrari 275 GTB ranged from 2.5 to 3.5 million US dollars, and Shelby Cobra - from 1.0 to 1.3 million dollars. They went a little cheaper with a hammer - for $ 2.3 million and $ 950 thousand, respectively. More details on how the exciting bidding process took place - look at the video.
